Penobscot Island Air - VinalhavenVinalhaven:

With its active summer community and busy lobster fishery, Vinalhaven is one of the best known Penobscot Bay islands—and one of the largest (about nine miles long and five miles wide). Historically known for its granite-quarrying industry, the island offers restaurants, shops, a museum, numerous recreational activities, and year-round accommodations. Map

Islesboro:

Islesboro is a ten-mile island town in Waldo County famous for its well-established summer colony; it's home to Dark Harbor, Warren Island State Park, bed & breakfasts, and vacation rentals and offers boating, kayaking, and hiking trails. Map

Historically a shipbuilding community, railroad town, and poultry center, Belfast is the county seat of Waldo County and has in recent years experienced a rejuvenated economy. Map

Rockland:

Calling itself the "Lobster Capital of the World," the City of Rockland is the center of commerce and county seat of Knox County. Its lobster fishery—along with those of nearby towns—is famous; historically it was home to a vital lime-quarrying industry from which it got its name. Map
